Frequently Asked Questions
- Can I use standard C size alkaline batteries?
- No, the unit requires 4.8 volts to operate properly.
Two C size batteries only supply 3 volts.
- How long will the batteries hold a charge when the unit is
not in use?
- This depends on the age of the batteries. When new they will hold a
charge for over 30 days. This time period progressively
declines as the batteries age.
- How long will my batteries last before they need replacing?
- They will last through 500 cycles of being fully discharged and then
recharged. This correlates to 2000 lifetime hours.
- Will it damage the batteries if I leave them on constant charge?
- No, as a matter of fact, the preferred method is to leave them on
constant charge when they are not in use.
- Can I recondition batteries that have been left dormant for a long
period of time?
- Yes, by performing these steps:
- Fully charge the batteries.
- Leave the unit on until the battery power light goes out.
- Recharge them.
Repeating this process 2 or 3 times will produce the best
results.
